We Are Committed To Excellence Connexion Truck Centre opened its doors in 2000 in Winnipeg as a dealership for Sterling Trucks. Representing only one line of trucks, the company was known as Sterling Mid-Canada Ltd. From the beginning, the company exceeded its growth expectations. Taking things one step at a time, the company’s targets kept rising and it experienced growth despite the fact North America’s trucking industry was headed into a deep recession. Careful management practices combined with new and innovative strategies allowed Connexion to not only weather the financial dilemma of the industry, but to expand its operation significantly while many others were closing down. In 2002, it acquired the Western Star franchise and the franchise for Arne’s Trailers – two industry leaders in their respective fields.
All of this growth necessitated a move to a larger facility to accommodate a rapidly expanding customer base. A new facility was purchased on Oak Point Highway, in the heart of Winnipeg’s trucking district. This new facility also allowed Connexion Truck Centre to begin its body shop operation, which complemented the existing sales, service, and parts businesses. With the multi brand representation, a new name signifying the coming together of these industry-leading products was also in order. Thus Connexion Truck Centre Ltd. was chosen, signifying a “connecting” of product and service lines with customers needs.
In 2003, in an effort to bring its leading-edge technology and expertise closer to the main truck routes and make it even more convenient for customers to access its services, Connexion expanded once more, acquiring a full service and parts facility in Headingley, just west of Winnipeg. Situated on the Trans Canada Highway, Canada’s busiest truck route, the Connexion Truck Stop now gives customers a choice of locations, reducing time spent traveling for repairs and leaving more time for the profit making trips.
